Genesis 2:18-25

GENESIS 2:18-25 (multiple versions)

Describe the relationship between God and Adam.

Why wasn't the woman formed from the ground?

What is the significance of the woman being formed from Adam's Rib?

Genesis 2:15-17

GENESIS 2:15-17 (multiple versions NIV, KJ, NLT, American Standard)

The Lord God Creator of all things placed man in the garden of Eden. The man was to work and keep( guard, watch closely) the land.
What did God command?
That he could eat freely from any tree of the garden. BUT from the tree of knowledge of good and evil he shall not eat.
What did God declare would happen if the man ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil?
in the day that he eats from it he shall surely die.

Are we willing to have God set us in a place and do the work He has given us? Do we keep a careful watch over the territory given to us by God? Do we obey His commands as to what we can and cannot do within the place He has given to us? I confess that I don't tend to the garden as well as I should. I often see addicts and troubled youth on the bus & I have not spoke to them about Jesus. When I am on the check-out line and see parents who are overworked, tired & frustrated, I have not shared that Jesus said come unto me all who are weary...I will give you rest. Nor have I told my neighbors who are tense and fearful about the direction our nation seems to be headed...that Jesus said do not fear I have overcome the world. Surely if I am not providing life then am I responsible for death? If a physician knows how to save his fellow man and yet does not act because he is off duty-is that physician responsible for not using his gifts, talents, skills & knowledge? Where is our focus? Jesus said that we are to love God and to love others-that the whole of the commandments rest on those two.
God told the man to work & care for the garden. He commanded him not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good & evil. Because Adam & Eve disobeyed and ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil they were cast out of the garden. They would now experience death.
Jesus told us to love the Lord Our God and to Love others. Jesus told us to preach his gospel throughout all the world. Peter had said to Jesus where would we go- you have the words of life?
Jesus gave those words to us to share with others.

Genesis 3:1-6

Genesis 3 (Multiple Versions NIV, KING JAMES, AMERICAN STANDARD & NEW LIVING TRANSLATION)

The serpent said to the woman: Did God really say...? What was Eve's response? Was there an error in her response?

MATTHEW 4:1-11(Multiple versions)

Devil to Jesus..If you are... then...
Devil to Jesus...All this I will give you..if you bow down & worship me..

Jesus to Devil..It is written

Discern the voices that are speaking to you...be wise in the ways the devil will come to tempt you. Be wise in the way you respond.

Genesis 3 1-6
How did the serpent tempt Eve? Did Eve believe the serpent? What does that reveal about the choice she made?

the fruit of the tree of knowledge opened eyes to good and evil.
What was the fruit of the tree of life? Do you think that Adam & Eve were eating from the tree of life?
Every day we make choices. How do we know if we are eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge or the fruit from the tree of life?

EVE Chapter 2:4-6

Genesis 2:4-6 (multiple passages NIV, King James, American Standard & New Living Translation)

God formed earth & heaven BEFORE any plants & herbs were in the earth. There was no rain nor man to till the land. Yet a mist went from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.

Sometimes we meet people and we don't see any life in them. Could it be because there was no man to tell them of the love of God?

for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things

ROMANS 10:13-15

Even now could God be misting that persons heart to receive that glad tidings? Are you that person that the Lord formed to till the land of that persons heart? Are you the rain that will water the ground where the seed has been planted? Are you that worker of the harvest who will bring forth the fruit of the seeds that have been planted?
And he said unto them, The harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest.
Luke 10:2

Be prepared to have a ready answer and therefore rescue those who are in bondage to the god of this age. Pray that the Lord will send workers of the harvest. Pray that we will obey the great commission & that we will mature in Christ Jesus. Pray that the Love of the Lord Jesus Christ will be shed abroad in our hearts.
I charge thee in the sight of God, and of Christ Jesus, who shall judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom:

preach the word; be urgent in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts;

2 Timothy 4:1-3
