3 John 8-11
3 John 8-11
1) who are we to welcome & why?
2) John says that when we welcome the brethren that we become fellow workers for the truth. Can you site examples of how this is applied in your life, ministry or church?
3) How does John define the character of Diotrephes? How does the character of Diotrephes affect others? What does John intend to do about this? Are any of these character traits evident in you or those you know? What is your response when you see these character traits in yourself or others?
4) What would you do if the leadership in your church threatened you if you showed hospitality to our brothers & sisters in Christ Jesus?
5) When you see someone with Godly character does it inspire you to imitate that person? Since those with Godly character are imitating the character of Jesus - it would be wise for us to develop an intimate, sustaining, abiding relationship with Jesus. Jesus always did what He heard and saw of the Father. He who has seen Jesus has seen the Father. Therefore we also do that which we hear and see of Jesus. We have the Holy Spirit who will teach, guide and direct us in all truth.
6) When you see someone with character that reflects evil rather than good-What is your response?
John tells us to imitate what is good and not what is evil-he that doeth good is of God-he that doeth evil has not seen God.
7) Are you imitating that which is good or that which is evil?

3 John 4-7
3 John 4-7
1) What did John hear about Gaius that gave him great joy?
2) Who told John that Gaius is walking in the truth?
3) What does it mean that Gaius is walking in the truth?
4) For whose sake did the brethren go forth? What does going forth mean?
5) Verse 7 says that they took nothing from the Gentiles. What are your thoughts on taking money from unbelievers to support the ministry?
